📋 Pre-Operative Checklist for Pet Parents
- 🍽️ Fasting: Withhold food for 8–12 hours before surgery. Fresh water is allowed until 2 hours prior to arrival.
- 💊 Medications: Disclose any ongoing medications, herbal supplements, or known allergies during pre-op review.
- ⏰ Arrival: Bring your pet in the morning (between 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM) to allow complete blood screening and IV fluid preparation.
- 🐕 Leash / Carrier: Keep dogs on secure leashes and cats in protective carriers to minimize transit stress.
🩹 Post-Operative Care & Discharge
- 🛡️ Elizabethan Collar: Ensure your pet wears the protective cone 24/7 to prevent licking and suture disruption.
- 🛏️ Quiet Rest: Provide a quiet, warm, indoor space away from stairs, jumping, and rough play for 7–10 days.
- 💧 Incision Care: Keep the surgical site dry and clean. Do not bathe your pet until sutures are completely removed.
- ✂️ Suture Removal: Schedule suture evaluation/removal at our clinic 10–14 days post-surgery.
